SRSLY? What a crap design then. The chainline is going to suck and you'll need to run an un-necessarily heavy hub.

A Summum could be taken down to sub 30 no problems. That frame gives you a lot more options like a 135mm hub and a 73mm bb. You should see how light I have calculated it to be possible to drop my Reign X down to. Considering it's damn light already at 29.54 with a Gravity Dropper... ;) If you're mad you can use Nobby Nic 2.4's. They're lighter than the Betty's. But I can't guarantee they'll ride out after sharp grass gets near them, or coarse mud (high in sand density), or anything with the slightest of sharpness.... :P

Obtanium performance adapter is the needle bearing cage to prevent coil bind, right? If so, not necessary and loses the progressiveness... Or, real weenies run air shocks! That'd save a good 6 oz. Modded XT cranks are boss, it's not a lot of work for a good weight saving An e*thirteen SRS+ with a MRP Carbon bash is just under 20g less than an LG1+ Twenty6 Prerunner pedals are going to be lighter than nukeproofs, a good 40g (nukeproof are heavier than claimed by a long shot) SRAM is heavy, but if you're intent there is still gripshift! CK is heavy, use A2Z or Hope's 150mm rear hub with their super light 20mm XC hub up front. Save 10g with a carbon railed SLR, or 20 for the Technologica version (more exposed carbon, more concentrated padding) Slice and dice the KCNC post, you can get them down to 110g or above depending on your size of cut. Use a Woodman Deathrgrip Ti clamp, 9g Carbon bars! Syntace will soon be releasing their 740mm Vector DH (~230g). You won't miss the 2.5mm per end.. The 77 Designs stem is lighter than a Point1, also stronger. I'd advise it. Get some comfy BMX grips, cut them right and save 50g+ doing so. That's about it really, you could get into using alloy bolts and tuning too but that's a lot to get into. I'd say you could cut at least a pound off it. Have you added in the Weight of tubes or Stans & valve core?

Yeah I have a petzl for the headtorch, but will be being upgraded soonish I think.
Sub 30 is good, but you were talking about sub 28? How much does the gravity dropper add?
Bike is good, weighs around 34, just keeping it running now, no money and really liking how it is, I got an old LG1 to replace the SRS+, and sold the saint mech to go back to the trusty XT, that's about it really.
27km of xc tommorow morning before lunch on a 7" travel bike, love it! I've got a fair bit fitter after selling the XC bike!
Whats next on your list then? Invisible tyres?

Yeah not too bad, I saw some pictures of your bike on facebook, it's amazing, what's it sitting at currently?
I've been doing more all mountain, less DH, I love the freedom, and most nights after school heading up some fell or mountain! (got myself some l&m lights, bliss!)
Dent doesn't sound good, I did warn you haWink sure it will be fine if you keep an eye on it though.
What would you do if they requested you to be a Mod then?

Hows it going? Long time no speak, I'm not on here as much anymore. Not a MOD yet? Suprised if I'm honest!

Yeah, It will be sturdy enough for me. I have an extra set of wheels if I find something I really want to hit, and I am buying a new demo in the spring. I wanted to build this thing up super light, and have a sturdy trail bike with aggressive geo. I think I can get to around 27 pretty easily, and the rest I'll have to see about. I will keep my 5.1d's, however I may have get a set of the roval traverse EL's. since I work at a spesh shop, it's the cheapest option for me to lose weight on a decent wheelset while maintaining color and weight scheme. It definitely won't be a bike for ballsy shit, but thus far, I haven't found anything I won't hit on it. as far as shifting, i still run shimano cassettes and chains. Mostly Ultegra or 105 to get my gearing the way i like it. I thus far don't need a 32-34 t cassette. However when I move back west, I will... 2000 ft+ elevation climbs, compared to 300-400 ft max here on the east coast...

currently, I am at 28.2, before changing my tires to my lighter set/dryer condition set...

My goal for the bike is to be down around 26.5 or less. I have switched out my tires for my lighter ardent/advantage, and am going to weigh that, but it should be like a 380 g decrease after checking weights. I am a sram man... I have gone through so many xtr derailleurs in the past, that I have been converted. I just haven't had the longevity in the shimano shifting as I have in the sram stuff. I keep my bike maintained every time I ride, and I make sure my stuff is always good to go, and I just have not had a good run with shimano... I never used to run sram, and I have become a convert. I was going to investigate a sunrace cassette though, as I hear they are stupid light...

Yeah, I think that I'll probably end up running it. I found a new trail round here today that has some nice little road gaps, nothing big, but nice enough to hit, and i had to stop and lower my saddle... i think mentally, I'm sold, just the weight penalty is against this bikes concept. yeah, I have an XTR set waiting for my other X.0 red bits(derailleur, and shifters, and red chainring bolts, and a red CK bb-even though I think it's heavier than a xtr one) to get in, and then i am having the shop I used to work at send them out to me...
